Diversity Advocate Glenda Gill Presented with Rainbow Push Award

Written by Super User

The Rainbow PUSH Coalition has presented Glenda Gill with the "Keep Hope Alive Award" at their 17th Annual Global Automotive Summit at the MGM Grand Detroit. The award recognizes Ms. Gill for her career-long work of advocating for social and economic change, and in particular for her leadership role regarding inclusion and diversity in the auto industry.

The setting of the presentation holds extra significance for Ms. Gill, who created the Automotive Summit event seventeen years ago as a member of Rev. Jesse Jackson's Rainbow PUSH executive team. Under Ms. Gill's leadership, the Automotive Project negotiated over $4 billion in business contracts for more than 100 minority businesses.

"It is a unique honor to be recognized by Rev. Jackson, my friends, and colleagues at an event that remains so central to my professional life," Ms. Gill remarked. "Together, we have made so much progress in bringing diversity to the forefront of the automotive landscape. Under Rainbow PUSH's current leadership, I foresee even further success on the horizon."

More recently, Ms. Gill has shifted her focus from advocacy to providing solutions around inclusion and economic growth.

She currently serves as Vice President at Supplier Success, LLC, a Detroit-based supplier finance company focused on improving the working capital of corporations and suppliers, with a particular focus on assisting diverse businesses.
